Iím from south east Texas and only been hunting a few times but this year I got the opportunity to get on a lease in Brown County. The other hunters are all older and use it more as a retreat than for hunting. I was wondering if any one had any advice or suggestions for hunting up there. Thank you any advice is welcome.

I would go there now and pick out a area to hunt assuming you have not done so. Have your blind, do you need a pen for your feeder, have hogs on the property? I would get feeder up and running now. Spend some time scouting the area. Learn about the lease overall and the people you will be hunting with.

I'd look at the property first, assuming you haven't. Never saw an ad for a crappy lease. How many hunters / acres? Amenities (water, electric, sleep in tent, etc)? Too any variables without knowing more particulars about the place. Get a clear understanding of allowed/not allowed and see if it passes your sniff test. No matter how sweet it seems, 1st year I'd have minimum $$ and "stuff" set up because you don't know.......................until you know. Good Luck.
