So many stories about bad guides and inflated numbers; Stompy has always been straight forward and told us there were few birds. Even though there were not as many birds as years past, 3 out of 4 in my group got their limits today. Looking forward to our next Hunt! cowboy texas

Definitely more in the 117 acre field than I thought there was going to be. Thanks Chris.

They're starting to slow down some, the most anyone killed this morning was 10 but didn't have enough coverage in the field. Only had 5 folks in my 117 acre field. The other hunters had way too much fun last night to hunt this morning. What I consider my best field (40 acre) hardly had any birds at all so we stayed out of there this morning.

How about your neighbour, any luck there?

They did alright, some of them shot limits yesterday too.

My guy this morning that had 10 ended up with 13. He had 10 when I came by him, he picked off a few more after I left.

Pretty slow yesterday afternoon, no rain but dang windy. Going to try a fresh field this morning. I scouted it yesterday and didn't see much in it though.

Me and 3 boys got our limit Saturday. Best friend got his limit also. Several others got between 6-10. Sunday different story....I got 6 and should have had 8 or 9. All others got 2-4 birds. Very bad year for our place. Were between Throckmortan and Woodson. I think we have both a bad hatch year and a bad feed year. Most of our birds are young birds also. But we heard reports by several that they saw just a handful of birds all morning and took a couple shots.

Most of our birds were whitewings, with a few mourning and collared. We're just a few miles north and east of Stompy's grounds.

Was that on Puddin's field? Drove through there last weekend on the way to my deer lease; sunflowers and dove, both, were not looking good. First opener i have sat out in 25yrs+

No not Puddins place. I know Puddin's is in the area but I don't know exactly where. To give you an idea how good our place is I have shot 38 limits and some change in 41 hunts the last 3 years. I ran into another member Saturday that I've not spent much time with since I've been on this lease....last year alone I shot 250 birds, he shot 350 last year! We have 2 fields about 1/2 mile from each other. No water at all.
