My son just bought a Yildiz SPZ ME (Color Case Hardened Steel) 12-gauge Over/Under at Academy in Arlington.

But, the Cherry Lane Academy in Fort Worth has 2 on clearance right now. Regularly $749.99. On clearance for $538.98. This is the color case hardened steel receiver (not the aluminium alloy). Also, all Yildiz O/U's or Side-by Sides get a free Yildiz break-down soft case starting yesterday.

Just thought I would pass it along in case anybody is looking for an O/U.

Does it have ejectors or extractors? No more extractors for me.

Academy also has the aluminium alloy receiver O/U for $399.99 as well. A buddy of mine has one and it is a real nice shotgun.

Yelp a good gun smith can make them flawless also. Tooling can be a little rough on the inside.

What's wrong with extractors? My old sears sxs 20 gauge had extractors and ran flawlessly.

Went and checked it out today while killing time in town. Seems like a heck of a gun for $500. What is the problem with extractors? I’m not a shotgun expert.

Reviews of the gun are brutal though... IE: "It's good for 2 things: nothing and disappointment...". Ouch... that said, these were Beretta shooters so I doubt the reviews were apples to apples.

Extractors slow me down in the field and if I am sitting in blind, I can use ejectors to put all of the shells in a pile behind me instead of having to fiddle with them every shot. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the reply. I’m only a casual, very non-competitive skeet shooter, so it doesn’t matter to me at all about speed.

I currently run a Beretta AL2 that’s reliable but doesn’t quite fit perfectly. Need a bit more LOP. I’ll probably try to make it fit a bit better rather than go the O/U route. Thanks!

There are also reviews that claim the shotgun is "superb" and has "the best features of any O/U for under $1000".

I can't find reviews on it, unless they're basically all the same action?
