Went 65 miles out this weekend to get on some amberjack. Had never caught one and dont really care to ever again. Well, lets just say I would do it different next time. Ive never fought anytging with that kind of power and it about killed me. As soon as they gaffed mine i collapsed with heat stroke and they had to ice me down to bring me back. It was scary. Sky went black and that was it. Didnt help that I was 10 beers in and it was hot as hell with no wind. Oh well. Lesson learned. Heres the pics

I caught an amberjack once about 15 or so years ago. Shortly after reeling him in, I went all weak kneed and threw up. I didn't require ice to bring me back from the dead, but yeah, I feel you. Congrats on some nice fish!

Awesome fish! Those saltwater fish just have a lot more lead in their pencils than their fresh water counterparts.

Better eating too. They grill up just like steaks.
