For years hunted with #70 older PSE compondbow. Health reasons had ta give it up. Even when went back ta me first bow, #60 Indian.
Here, 60+age class, can use compound. Have very limited income. Just got 50cal in-line for shotgun muzzy season, so limited, enjoy me archery hunts. Looking at a Fever crossbow from SportsmansGuide, shows #175 draw with 235 roughly FPS.
Your thoughts for deer hunting, fast enough, will it getter done? Roughly 20yrd shots.
edit bang just put in the order.

Colt from what I remember that bow is pretty loud and good chance an alert deer could jump the string even at 20 yards. I could be remembering wrong but think I am remembering correctly

cheers
Thanks for input.
Have one looks the same called Jaguar crossbow. bang it still in texas along with other guns, bow's & hunting stuff. Never got chance ta use it, mostly hunted the WMA's & couldnt get Dr release.
Had a deer, alert, jump string on my first bow, Indian scout, i think twas name. Was up 15-20ft at 20yrd shot, it ducked the arrow.
Cant remember how load the Jaguar is. Have ta wait & see, & do lots of practice, get tuned in.
Got spot picked out.. archery starts Sept 15th, think. If too load, sit it out. Got a 50 cal in-line. Know most upper dollar cross bows way faster.

edit the 235fps tis slow compaired ta the others, but limited funds. My bows were under 300fps not sure real fps. Good point on noise.
