Yep, it is an impressive caliber! I heard about it several weeks ago and have been watching the videos. I am not sure of the over-qualified proclamation of being so powerful. It may be the most powerful "5.56 based .30 caliber cartridge in the AR15 utilizing a standard .223/5.56 bolt" but that doesn't even jive with what is stated and shown on Wilson's own website, or maybe it is just a bunch of gobbledigook. I am having trouble making heads or tails. Wilson's site says... By using an AR10 size bolt and barrel extension, this new cartridge... That sounds to me like it is using a standard .308 bolt and barrel extension, not .2233/5.56. The lower is AR10-sized, but using an (comparatively) undersized AR15 mag in the AR10 magwell. The .458 Socom, .450 Bushy, and .50 Beowulf all use an actual standard 5.56-based AR15 lower. I have no doubt it is going to do great on the elk, regardless of the bizarre technological claims.

Might help if you look at the right thing, the 300 HAM'R, not the 458 HAM'R, maybe a momentary brain fart.
