Looking at options to keep hogs and other varmints out of my yard. Came across Stay Tuff hog wire and it claims to be as good as panels at keeping hogs at bay. Does anyone have experience with this product or another rolled wire that will keep hogs, and maybe the occasional gator, out? http://www.staytuff.com/Hog.aspI may get a roll and do a couple feeders just to test it out.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

That will work just fine. I used a this type of wire 4"x4" squares and 48" tall for my yard fence. Keeps my dog in and hog/other critters out. Rabbits cans squeeze thru the 4x4 squares or fly thru them when the dog is after them. The local places did not keep Redbrand but other types exactly the same specs. It was a pain to tie off all the corners is the only downside. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/red-brand-goat-fence-48-in-x-330-ft

If you have posts strong enough to properly tension the fencing it works well. For feed pens it might be difficult unless you make it square with strong & deep corner posts, I doubt T posts will do.
Staytuff brand is all I use for weaning pastures after many years experience with other brands.

Staytuff brand is all I use for weaning pastures after many years experience with other brands. The perimeter fence will be pipe so it should be plenty strong. That's a good point about t-posts. Maybe I'll forget the trial run.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

We used something like the 842-3 for 480 acres. Not sure of the brand of fence. We haven't had a hog in 10 years, but we catch and hunt them outside of the fence all of the time.

T posts will be fine for line posts, I just wouldn't try them for tension posts or corners.

How does it compare in pricing to panels?

How does it compare in pricing to panels? A 330' roll is about $200 at McCoy's. Hog panels run about $25 for 16'.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Just make sure you have really good corners that are set deep(4.5'+) or the fence will get slack in it when they pull. Hog will easily go under a fence if it gets like that. Put the T-post close enough like posted above and you will be fine.

We also ran a single strand of barbed wire along the bottom.

I have used similar wire on 3 leases, all where there were a lot of hogs, and not the first hog has gotten in. Used Tposts in a circle with a string of barb wire around the top to keep the cows from leaning over and pushing it in. A string around the bottom would be very good.

Been replacing old barb wire fences with the 735-6 for a few years. Works great with a single strand of gaucho on the bottom.

A friend was having hog problems and asked me to trap some but my trap was already being used at another property. we used hog wire hog wire instead of panels and it got the job done and we caught a bunch of hogs

Espy, that reminds me of a hog trap that we made from some rolled wire that looks like the 1348-3. We caught a bunch of hogs in that trap/pen (about 40ft x 40ft). No hog ever got out.
