I sure wouldn’t drive all the way from the Metroplex to hunt over here. I’m hardly seeing any.

Drove out to that area yesterday to scout some public land. Maybe saw 5 or 6 dove. Not worth the almost 2 hour drive from DFW.

still got 2 weeks... and another "cold" front coming. Should push some more birds down I would hope. Keep us posted on what you're seeing.

Are y'all counting on northern birds for the season opener?

Yep, second front on Oct. Also brings down a ton of BWT a couple weeks too late.

Any reports from this weekend on new activity?

Maybe these mild fronts will get them moving?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but.....Graford hasn't had any good numbers since the fire of 2011. It has progressively gotten worse every year to the point we didn't even hunt there last year.

Dove Weed- We have a lease just outside of Graford. It was good to fair last year and we will be returning this year. We're hoping for better results this year.

this ain't saying much but there were 30 dove suddenly at my house in Dallas this morning behind the "cold" front that pushed through. Haven't seen a dove here in quite a while. They probably just pushed down from McKinney..but hey, that's something...

Anyone know about Hamilton area? My uncle runs the family ranch but he always tells me he never notices birds. He's a rancher, not a hunter!

I have hunted this area for the last 30 yrs. very few sunflowers. The fields have been striped the grass so short you can hardly see the the difference maybe 1 dove per mile. Don’t see any food to attract them !, Sad.

I'm starting to see activity up in far northwest Fort Worth. I saw groups of five and 10 or so this morning. Fingers crossed it increases.

Hunter 64 - good luck on your lease. Still not sure why HRR is leasing your field and not ours since they are basically the same field. I have not seen hardly any dove yet.

Halfadozen-I really don't know what to expect this year with the dry conditions.

Was anyone out in the Graford area over the weekend that may have an updated dove report?

Hunter 64 - If I can find an hour tomorrow I will run up to your lease and check it out but it would be around mid-day. I can at least give you an update on your field conditions.

Oh that would be cool. I haven't had the time to get up there. And I'm not as close as you are to that place. You certainly do not have to do that.
