I have been hunting in Northeast Texas for 30 years now. This is one of the strangest years to date regarding the amount of books I have on camera. I usually have at least 10 different bucks on camera by this time of the year. However, this year I have zero bucks on camera yet. Lots of does and pigs as usual, but no bucks. Has anyone else experienced this phenomena?

Sure, bucks travel in bachelor groups this time of year, not uncommon for them to be bunched up somewhere else, they may travel through your area at some point. You gotta have something they want, this time of year it is food, water, shelter later on it will be doe.
If you have doe sooner or later bucks will find them.

Put feed pens around your feeders so the pigs will go somewhere else & most likely see more deer.
Using 12 - 16, 34" x 16' hog panels, T posts every 8'.

What of NE Texas are you hunting? I hunt the Piney Woods and I'm to set out cameras soon. It would be very unusual us not to have any bucks on camera.

I’m in Red River County hunting on land I have owned for a decade. I feed year with 3 corn feeders and an enclosed protein feeder. I had several (6-7) legal bucks on camera at the end of last season. Figured I would have more this year. So far, all does...

I haven't hunted in Red River county in a long time, but, I wouldn't worry about not seeing bucks, you have doe, bucks will travel quite some distant when the time is right.

Right now we have 10 - 18 or so bucks on camera every day at ranch HQ, wouldn't surprise me a bit if they all disappeared for a few days up to several weeks this time of year right up to breeding season. It isn't unusual for them to become scarce when hunters on nearby properties come out fill & start their corn feeders, we only feed protein year around, corn during season only.
What would concern me more is not seeing any doe.

There is no better buck attractant on the planet than real live doe in estrus.

I rarely see bucks on cam this time of year on my place in NE Tx, but while driving around or mowing I have jumped groups of 4 or 5 bucks away from the cameras.

Go hand corn some areas away from feeders and set up cams that’s what I’ve been doing and it’s working great.

Remember when the rut starts, he who has the does will have the bucks that count up

I hunt red river. We have some very nice bucks on camera this summer. For the last month they’ve been clear cutting. It looks like when they’re done I’m going to have to stands in the wide open but both are within 100 yards of hardwoods and a bayou. I think with a little food plot strategy I’m going to see more deer this year than ever before. I’ve found something called “small Burnett” that grows in soil as low as 4.5ph and will take full sun. It’s used for livestock in Africa and is native there. It’s been imported here for livestock in drought stricken areas. We shall see. They may not touch it at all but I’m going with oats and rye as well.

I know. Too much information. The bottom line is the cameras are showing we have some 18-20” deer this year as we have had in past years. Never seen much over 20” come out of there.

Here is a nice bachelor group. Hard for me to make out age/size but they all look relatively young in B&W. Thoughts on size? I'm guessing 130-135 at best for the one on the right.

I see 3-4.5 yos in that pic, kind of far off to tell with great certainty. Scorewise, I see 115-125 tops.

Based on some of the other pics I think they are 2-4. That said, I don’t have any picture that’s better with them all there for comparison. The 130-135 is optimistic for sure, you aren’t out of line on 125. Going to let them go for another year or two and see what we get out of them. Maybe we can get the 2 8 pts to turn into 10s. The 6 pt can’t be more than 2 yo
