I lucked into a Nilgai hunt today scheduled for this Sunday South Texas. I am out of town for work so I don't have all my equipment with me. I will need to buy some ice chests to transport the nilgai cow back to Houston. Any tips on what it will require? Will a 150 quart do it? Two 100 Quarts?

You can fit her quartered into a 150.

dry ice and a non working freezer off craigslist for free is what I do when I go on elk hunts. Super Cheap that way!

Sure thing. Good luck, some great meat if you're successful.

You're only headed back to Houston you can by some of the 55 gallon bins from Home Depot and load them up with ice. That's what I usually do.

Been there and I go to the dollar store and buy $5 plastic tubs with a ice and dry mixture. Always work for me...

Thanks again, guys. I have to keep it on ice for about 5 days before I get home. So I really think an ice chest would be the way to go. But, Instead of buying a 10th ice chest I don't need the cheap tub sounds good. If I do bag a Nilgai I'll go spend the money on the ice chest then.
