I know one thing, I won't ever buy a stealth cam again. Not user friendly at all, and the pics, for a 16mp camera are just terrible.
On the other hand, the cheap 18mp wildgame innovations is a dang good camera for the money.
What does everyone prefer around here?

I've had good luck with Browning cameras. I agree with you about wildgame innovations. They have great battery life and I could buy two for the price of one Browning.
God bless John Wayne!

I got a deal on end of season close out on several different model Moultries and two Bushnell cameras for $25/camera if I bought all they had. I've been pretty pleased with them. Figured I couldn't go wrong at $25/camera. I've had good luck with the Primos Proof Cam 2's as well.

Browning strike force is hands down the best for $100 or less!

I've always had great results with Cuddebacks. We just bought 16 new Cuddelink cameras and will hopefully get them out and online this weekend. Will be nice to be able to access all of our cameras remotely. If the system works as advertised, it will save a lot of time and money going back and forth to pull/replace cards.

Update with that will you. We're looking at doing something cellular.

Are you getting one of the Cuddeback CuddeLink Home Plus to collect all the pics and/or load them to a computer at camp or getting one of the Cuddeback Cellular Home units to collect all the pics at one cellular camera then email them to you?

What do you think will be the greatest distance on the ranch between your link cams?

Be interested to see how they link with flat to rolling terrain in that thicker brush.

Me too! I was skeptical but my buddy who runs the cameras for us researched them extensively and spent a lot of time on the phone with Cuddeback. If they won't connect and function as advertised, we'll have wasted a bunch of $. Fingers crossed. I'll report back after they're up and running.

Are you hiding the cellular cam to keep it from being stolen?

I just bought a Snyper cellular camera at the TTHA Extravaganza in Fort Worth. Extravaganza special for camera, t-post mount, and solar panel for $400.
I’ve been a Spartan believer and owner for nearly 2 years but am plagued with horrible battery life. I had an absolutely horrible experience at the Spartan booth today. Was practically called a liar and the spartan rep immediately went to bashing the competition.
I promptly went back to the Snyper booth and bought the camera package from the OWNER of Snyper. He was nothing but professional and promised a 30 day money back guarantee if I don’t like it.

Are you hiding the cellular cam to keep it from being stolen? Not hiding it but placing at a stand that gets no "foot traffic", if you know what I mean. We're still waiting on the cellular camera as they were on back order. Should have it in a week or so. My buddy installed the other nine this weekend and is using one as the "home" until we get the cellular. All cameras are communicating and sending photos to the home camera for now. As you suspected, the brush and rolling terrain are inhibiting the signals on a couple cameras. They're showing about 30% connectivity, which is still good enough. However, we're going to order some of the repeaters ($130) each which help to bridge the gap on reception on cameras that are struggling to communicate. All in all, I think it's gonna be a great system. But $$$.

That sounds a lot like the old Buckeye Camera systems. They used to be pretty popular on the forums but seem to have fallen off a few years back.

Hard to beat the Browning Strike Force for under $100. Mine took 6400+ photos on a set of regular batteries. Put lithium’s in it and it will see at least 12,000.

On the other hand, the cheap 18mp wildgame innovations is a dang good camera for the money. I've had just the opposite experiences. My stealth cams have been great. Someone stole mine this past year and I just bought more to replace one stealth cam and one cuddeback. The WGI cams have been horrible, in my experience. They are the most undependable cameras that I've owned and usually quit working just weeks after putting them out. I've returned all four that I've purchased, all due to battery doors breaking off(first use), or complete malfunctions.

I had 2 Stealth Cams that got left out since January. Finally got the cards out of them this weekend. One had 10,700 photos, one had 7100. All of that was on 8 standard Duracell batteries each. And they were still taking pictures on the day I took the cards out. Picture quality looks good, too.

Browning cams here as well. I've had one going on 6 years and another going on 5 years now. With lithium batteries they'll last all year long. I replace them before season every year regardless if they are dead or not. Just picked up 2 more when midway put them on sale over the summer. I don't have to have the latest and greatest camera, but have been very pleased. I typically wait until Midway puts the models that are getting discontinued on sale (generally mid summer time) and can pick one up for around $50-60 bucks.

another Browning Strike Force HD thumbs up. I switched to these 2 years ago and very pleased running 5 right now. Waiting to pick up more when find on sale. I'm in the process of adding external battery and solar with 12v fixed regulators to a couple of units that stay in one place 365 24/7 to run on video. agree I've had good luck with lithium batteries lasting all year long.
