Does this do something the .30 Nosler or .300 RUM doesn’t?

I doubt it. Apparently Hornady thinks we need another.

Mag bolt, no belt, 30° shoulder.
Let's look at a bullet weight and how fast can you push it. New case name doing the same work. Bet the biggest difference is, as usual for Hornady, they will support it with heavy, high BC bullets, that shoot pretty consistent.
But yeah, 30 Nosler in that action, or if a guy wanted to get serious about a bad boy .30 cal, go to .300 Norma Mag. That's the next bolt face size though.

I believe it's based on the 375 Ruger.

It's almost an exact copy of a 300 Dakota round. It's a little bit larger than a 30 Nosler round, but not by much. It's a little hotter than 300 Win Mag.

I believe it's based on the 375 Ruger. It looks like it could be.

Just noticed COAL is listed as 3.700".
Aren't most magnum actions 3.600"?

Reamer will be here Monday, and Per Neil at Hornady we should have the care test package from Hornady any day now. Will let you know how they go but will be up and running with them within 10 days.
