Well, while walking the dog this morning, after dreaming about 6mm Creedmoors. .22 Creedmoors, 22-250's, I came to realize, I have two perfectly good 6.5 Creedmoors. This one can shoot .25 groups if Jason, Dee, DStroud, Chad and many more were shooting it.

I've been looking and reading HARD about the 6mm Creed in a Havak, Bergara Pro Series, Browning XBolt Hells Canyon all around $1500 - $2500, plus a new optic $1500+. Hell even a $4,000 custom. Sure as hell if I do it, my AC Unit will go South and I''m screwed. What's this, is the "Squirrel" getting "common sense"???

I think I will just use it as a blank canvas, maybe have the stock painted, metal Cerakoted, maybe sell the scope and get a new scope.???>

I know what you think of me but what do you think of my idea? confused2

The more time you spend on the range shooting, the less an idle mind can wonder off into retail therapyland. It's just too easy to go off into acquisition mode and find yourself in a bind.

I'm just as susceptible to it as anyone else!

You're not the squirrel you're the dog that gets distracted by every squirrel...that saying came from probably the only animated movie I've seen in the last 20 years called UP. It's an alright movie but definitely a kids movie, I was drug to it by a niece that I just couldn't say no too wink

I don't know why you don't buy a barrel and have that gun turned into what you want...any of those will work with that action. Action wrench, barrel vice and a rezero and that gun can be any gun you choose for it to be. That and your retired...you gots all kinds of time to swap barrels and rezero.

Less than $1000 and that gun can be your 22 Creed, 6 Creed, 22-250, etc.

I fully expected this post to be about metamucil or some other form of geriatric fiber supplements.

That being said I'm with Judd just get a new barrel and swap when you want.

Honestly sounds like you need to get a job. Oh, and just shoot the dang thing or rebarrel it and shoot it. I completely don't understand what all the angst is about.

And

That's pretty danged funny right there! rofl

Buddy Buzz, you don't need another rifle, just shoot the ones you have. If you don't have a dedicated scope on the 6.5 Creed (Deviant action), spend the money on that and shoot it. That, along with your Remmy 223 5R and your very accurate AR15, is all you will need for prairie dogging, varmint hunting and target shooting.

Leave the guy alone. Buy the new rifle. You can't take it with you when you die. Oh well.

I don’t think you’ll be wowed with the 6 creed

I think you should build or buy another fancy .22 and shoot it

What Judd said.

Get a .224 barrel, take it all to Tony. An action wrench, and a barrel vise, and it's a few minutes to switch a barrel. Timing mark both barrels, and the action, and they will be the correct headspace.

Buzz,

What type or style of shooting do you enjoy and really want to do?

I think it was a rhetorical question...we know what shooting the old man wants to do.

Got to be at a bench, above 50 but below 80 with some sun but not too much because he'll burn easily and require to much hydration which makes him pee every 15 minutes. rofl You get the point.

Odds are the thing will be shot in the AC and heat at Frisco Gun Club more than anywhere else.

Then just leave the rifle as is, pick up a higher magnification scope for some paper punching and then wear out the barrel. 2cents

Dammit

I looked at a SWEEEEET rifle and pistol today. Both may be on the new must have list. I can really only do one cuz I would have to scope the rifle

maybe I should just go buy a dozen golf balls and forget it.

Haven't even shot my new shotgun yet, had to wait for the Muller choke tube to get here

Can't just say you found new ones without going into details.

I have two shotguns I bought in the last 7 years that I never shot. I can't remember the last time I shot a shotgun.

Slap a Kahles 624i on that 6.5 creed. Then you will have a new gun and scope.
