What features do you look for in choosing a game camera? Any particular brands you like or try to stay away from?

Why don't we have time to do things right the first time, but always have time to do things over, and over, and over?

I strictly use only NO GLOW cams. Don't need red lights spooking any bucks from an area. You want to look for cams with fast trigger speeds and quick reset times. Trigger speeds at 1sec, or under is considered quick. You want to get a reputable brand. Primos and WildGame have not proven to last a season in my experiences and I will steer anyone away from them. While there are some people who swear by them. My luck and the majority of others have been very poor results. They also have cams that can be convenient in the field having small built in screens so you can check your pics at your cam instead of changing cards. Comes in handy on getting it at just the right angle too.

Browning
Stealth ... Get the NG models for the no glow series
Spy Point
Muddy is good for their price
Moultrie is hit or miss these days

Bushnell has been hit or miss for me

X2 I have four. Best cameras I've ever had. They use 4 AA batteries. Set on time lapse with pictures one minute apart dawn to dusk I get a little over 7,000 pictures on a set of batteries.

Detection range and picture quality is good. This picture was taken in one-shot detection mode.

we run 20 plus cameras - over the years we tried almost every brand. We settled on the Moultrie Panoramic - overall performed well and we especially like that it can cover 180 degrees of a feed pen so you do not miss many deer coming to your feeders

You can't fix stupid

Yes, there's a setting that gives you a whole bunch of time interval options for daytime time-lapse, including triggered pictures for the entire time period outside of the time lapse setting.

I have had good luck with Primos, SpyPoint, Bushnell and Reconyx(friend gave me one). They all can be really great and take great pics or be so so with picture quality even in the same brand. I had 4 Bushnell and all but 1 took really good pics. Same with Primos 35 Truth cams. Bushnell and Reconyx both get the most pics and best quality with very long battery life. The Primos 35 Truth Cams were factory refurbs I got cheap and they lasted 3-4 years on all but one and it is now 6 yrs old. Still takes over 10,000 pics on a set of batteries. Not the fastest trigger speed but takes a lot of pics. Never used Browning and have not used Cuddeback in 5 yrs now. Moultrie was a good camera(all the different ones I had) but have not used one in 8 yrs now. I have a friend who tested the highest rated TC of several brands....Reconyx, Cuddeback, Bushnell, Moultrie, SpyPoint, Wildgame Innovations, and Stealthcams. In the end after using them all for year, he went with all Cuddebacks. Said the picture quality, battery life and overall ease of setup is what sold him on them.

Yep. That was our conclusion also. Only issue we’ve had is woodpeckers seem to love to peck out the white lens. Very easy to replace and cheap to buy

That can be an issue with all of them with woodpeckers and coons. I have had it happen to SpyPoint, Bushnell and Primos.

Have you tried a browning strike force? I can’t speak on the 12 and 14 mp models but I can’t find a better camera especially for $100 or less than the 10mp strike forces I use.

Well they slowly die off. The last ones are tougher to kill off though. One was stolen or pilfered by a raccoon last fall though. That speeds up things.

2cents walley-world got some tasco 8mp for $28.00.

Got a few, gonna set em up. Enjoy me wild-life cams. + bang aint got no wild hogs up here. banana2 did here of rig turned over, no one got hurt, hopeful some of d hogs got free...
edit: takes 8 AA batteries, they had pac if 8 rayovac with a 16gb sd card for $12.00 sitting next to em. So ready ta go.

Bayueguy mispelled, flehan no disrespect. Had been using the Moltree cams set ever min. at me ol deer food plot & corn feeders. Facing each other 109yrds. If something went threw got at least 1 pic worked great. Down load ta lap, bit fusy if at farthest lenghth but could tell buck-spike whin zoomed it. Not bad for $20.00. The settings got were couldnt read, made video, so could set up. 4AA batteries. Wasnt best for night though.
