Have a few folks coming in for the weekend and need some of your rub mixes in order to grill and slow cook brisket, ribs and pork loin. Post 'em up unless they're top secret.(then just send by PM)

Salt, cayenne, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper. That's what I'm looking for except it would be nice to have measurements in there. We buy our seasonings in bulk, so would like to mix my own rub instead of paying the $10-15 for a half pint of rub mix.

I tried this, it was pretty good. I might try more garlic and cayenne next time.

If you like sweet go more sugar not so sweet less.

1/4 black pepper, 1/4 salt, 1/4 onion powder, 1/8 paprika, 1/8 garlic powder ... basic for all
for pork, take 1/2 mix above and 1/2 brown sugar

I tried this, it was pretty good. I might try more garlic and cayenne next time. Mbavo has this right for brisket, but I would cut the chili powder down a bit for my taste. For your pork loin, I use Famous Dave's Rub. I like to give it a generous rub the night before smoking and let it sit in the fridge overnight. In the morning, I will give it another light rub.

Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

In the last 10 years we have gotten to the point that the Fiesta Brand rubs and mixes are good enough.

I'll say on the brisket keep it simple...salt/pepper. The more important things are quality of your meat and good seasoned wood and keep the temps steady and low. Don't over do the rub on that brisket...pork and ribs you can get fancier with ingredients.
Remember....good meat and good wood Trump (pun intended) the fancy rubs ingredients.
