i buy midlle of the price trailcameras..i have several questions..with a 32 gb SD card.. how do yall set your cameras on a feeder..my camera says that a 32 gb card will hold 20000 pix..i know there are alot of varibles..i have cameras that have the solar panels and rechargeble battery..so battery drainage is no problem...i really dont care about videos..question..single pix or burst? sometimes its as long as two months between feeder fillings..my camera has a .05 delay..so its middle of the road recovery between pix..i set sensitvity to high what intervals do yall set your camera..off season i set mine at 10 seconds...i have lots of hogs ans turkey..and probably the most serious varible lots of cattle that come to the feeders..about to put up feeder pens..starting from the top explain how yall set your cameras up..one thing that workd well for me..i learned the hard way..everytime you set up a cemera..you have cows come up and smell your scent and screw with your camera..i have now solved that problem..i attach the camera on an eight foot 2x4 attached to a tee paost and angle the camera down..it works perfect..great pix..problem is and i dont mind that is i have to get on a ladder to pull cards..wifi cameras are too expensive i have 4 feeders on my 400 acres..thanks in advance..thoughts..i never took trailcamers very seriously..until i realized(with the help of fellow hunters..Justin and dustin) it is an important tool in identifying a particular deer during off season and getting a pattern on him and knowing you have him coming..so you know the deer you want to take and wont take an inferrior deer..or somesuch..lol

You are right in that your 32gb card should hold at least 20,000 photos. I have all of my cameras on a burst mode where it takes 6 or 8 photos as fast as the camera can. Then I set my camera to take again in one minute. I like lots of photos to see what I may have. You will be surprised how many times you only get one photo of a particular deer. I get about 2,000 photos a week per camera. I don't have solar panels on mine but I get about 4-5 weeks worth of pictures before I need to replace the batteries. If I know I will not be there for say 3 months at a time, I set my camera at 3 photos every 5 minutes. Of course if nothing comes into view the camera will not take anything until it does.

If I have cattle I take a piece of 3' or 4' tall 2x4 welded wire and make a hoop around the tree or T-post I have the camera mounted to. I then cut the wire for the camera to take pics and they motion sensor to shoot thru. I cut from the middle so I can then bend the cut stay wires up or outward to frame the opening. That way the cut wires are pointed outward making it more difficult for cattle to get to them. I like to angle the camera downward when ever I can to not get as many pics of animals way in the back ground. If I have hog panel pens I do not worry about that and set the camera to shoot right at the middle of the protein feeder and mount the camera 34" off the ground. I have mainly Bushnell cams and can set the length between pics at how many seconds or minutes I want. I live on my place so I set it from 30-45 seconds unless I have a lot of does then I set them at 90 seconds.

Not so fast. How many megapixels are the images? JPEG, right? If the images are less than 6MP (whole numbers), then you will get over 20K. If 6MP or more, you will get less.

Last week I had one that had 9,999 photos and then it quit taking. I looked at the first 200 of doe moving about an inch at a time and skipped to about every 500 pictures.

Yea, usually if your going to have a cam on a feeder, or mineral site, you don't want burst mode on unless you want to look at thousands of the same pics. If your on a feeder, or mineral site, or any place like that, that the deer are going to spend long amounts of time Id set it up for single pics about 2-3 minutes apart, or short 10 sec videos 3-5 minutes apart. It also depends on your deer traffic and how often your going to be able to check the cams. If you don't have many deer, you may be more anxious. If you can check weekly, youll want to spread it out farther too. If your on trails, then youll want bursts and the cam to reset in under a minute
