Happened to run into this little fella this morning and decided it was some time for a little fun again. I hung him up and weighed him, but also took measurements. He was 52" around, just behind the front legs...60" from nose to balls...75" from nose to rear hooves. What do you all think he weighs? I know he is too big for an old codger like me to be trying to drag around anymore!

We'll give it a few days to see what guys think about it, and I'll post a pic of the scale it was hanging on.

That’s a big pig. Congrats on that. Cutters? Or they broke off?

I reckon he's 405.6 give or take a bit for mud. That's just a guess.

He had about 2" on each side. I dumped him intact at my bone pile area....the buzzards will have a good time tonight. I used to save tusks, heads and stuff like that..but I just don't anymore.
This particular property where I got him is special to me. I took over maintenance of the property for the owner about 10 years ago, and this was pig #599. Looks like I'm going to have to spend some sweaty nights out in the stands for a while to make the next milestone at 600. I have probably taken over 1,000 hogs over the past 10-12 years that I have been hunting this guys properties, but at 73 years old it's getting harder for me all the time....especially handling these bigger guys.

He looks big, but he isn't super fat like some mamas get. A lean long boar.

My gut tells me he is pushing 275, but my mind tells me less, closer to 240-250.

My son said 285.

By the girth measurement method he should be close to 320. Don't see 320 in that pic but, pics can be deceiving.

An estimator for domestic hogs would have him slightly over 400, but theres no way. Domestic hogs have so much more fat.

We're getting some estimates that are pretty darned close? As many hogs as I have dealt with, I wouldn't be savvy enough to guess all that close !

This is the next guy I'm aiming for....hopefully number 600 here. I've been seeing him for a while on the cameras, and spent some 8 hr. nights out watching for him....but no luck so far. You can only imagine what we have named him.

I always assume the tape will be about 20 lbs over on most hogs especially if covered in mud and with the thick hair. I mostly based my guess on your measurement.

I'd expect you to be "Right on" ! Hope it's cooler in Mineola. I was planning another night out tonight, but might melt away to nothing...

Kinda like me. Too dang hot. I need to get to my place and look at things. I had to lose a water in the tanks and more than likely a lot of fish in my 1/4 acre one.

Stayed out all night again last night (little sweaty), and only saw one hog. It was a biggun, but never could get a shot at it. Did manage to shoot a beaver at the lake on the way in, so the night was not a total waste.
