Brady, this was a training weekend with the Texas Versatile Gun Dog Enthusiasts, down at the "Big Woods on the Trinity Ranch". Awesome place, it is set up for training, but mainly duck hunting.
She had a long hunt on the first picture, over 8 minuets. The moss in the first water after the little corner clip was so thick, she got hung up and had to lake a hard left to get untangled, then she ran the bank to get back somewhat on line, hunted short, then hunted long, then hunted the open water and long on land, hunted left and right. No wind didn't help either. She didn't quit. That was her longest hunt to date. That big open water blind, when she got on the opposite bank she was about 25 or 30 feet left of the duck, she hit the scent cone and it was all over. She is a straight swimmer.

Interesting
I have a huge disadvantage when it comes to upper level training.
I have absolutely 0 chance at competing in FTs because of my lack of grounds.

Look up Pin Oak Kennels and make a road trip when they have a training day set up. Scott has one of the top 3 technical training waters in the world. Scott no longer trains dogs to keep his amateur status but, does let groups, trainers or individuals come out to train on his grounds for a fee. Find a date when some others are training and join up with them. Heck I just may go with you. http://pokennels.com/

Kimber has passed two seasoned and 2 finished tests there. 4 hour drive. That tech water is something else for sure.
