In. Live Oak County here off 624 between 281 and 59. Was extremely dry up until last week. Went this past weekend and vegetation had already restarted regreening after the 7+ inches of rain we received. Does still fat and pregnant but should be dropping really soon. Deer look extremely healthy for as dry as it has been which is a plus and the antlers are growing in really nicely.

I had less than 5" from Jan 1 till June 18th this year in northern Live Oak. Jan till March 28th was horribly bad with less than .60" total. A 2" rain in late March really helped a lot. That was the biggest rain so far this year till that last week total when I poured 2.15" of the gauge. Post rut was really bad for the deer this year and the spring was not much better, so I am not expecting to much this year.

South of George west got between 6-7” this past week.

Have a Ranch for sale south of GW and between 281 and 59

Prior to that it’s been really dry

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

My dad went today to our place in Simmons City, I haven't talked to him yet. I hoping to have a good fawn crop this year, last year was not so good for fawn's. Last time I was there (3 weeks ago) one of the ponds was nearly dry, I only saw it dry once years ago during the extreme drought.

Just talked to my dad, doesn't look like we got near six inches but the pond is nearly full and grass is growing.

Moving slow enough to do some good and building back behind it a little more. Hard rain moving thru Northern Live Oak County now. This could turn out to be a good rainfall total.

My place is about 20 miles or little more straight line NE from your lease. I finally made it over and poured out 2.75" total for the past couple of days after this morning rain. That line of showers should have been much heavier on your lease as it moved SW this morning. Another very heavy shower moved thru again just now and it is much heavier from TR to GW so you should get some run off from this rain. I poured out 2.75" of rain in northern Bee County also this morning. I only had 1.2" here but a decent shower just moved across me here in Goliad County. South down to Refugio and Rockport was much heavier rains today and this week. A lot more and have not gotten any totals but talked to a friend down in Rockport and said those heavy rains ran him off the bay this morning. Beeville area across to GW got really heavy rain this afternoon.

Should work out good for the does that are fawning, hopefully it'll stay green for a while and keep them out of the protein feeders. They ate 3 tons on our place in 5 weeks, had to top off the feeders.

Spoke with my cousin who has a place 3 miles due west of GW and one ENE of GW and IH-37. He had 2" on both places yesterday in the gauge for this week when he checked yesterday. Both have had 12"+ in last 5 weeks now as of yesterday. I know it rained more there today. He said he was going down there to check cattle and water troughs tomorrow. Tanks were full on the place ENE of GW and the other place does not have any tanks. I will know more on rainfall totals for those areas.
It was really green in Northern Live Oak today and much better than even Monday when I was there. Really looks good and should be better after this rain. Still have 50% rain chances Sat. and Sun. then falls to 20% Mon. and Tues.

We need all we can get during this time of year with the temperature as high as it is it doesn't take long before the dust is flying and the browse turns brown.
