l2b,

RR is correct.

I am in Austin and I have multiple instructor certifications and I love to teach others.

I would be happy to work with you or do a two on one if you want to bring your wife, girlfriend, or a friend. Lessons are conducted the Austin Rifle Club in Manor.

They have an instructor only range, which I reserve, so we have a range with cover to ourselves without interruptions.

My focus is on training towards concealed carry proficiency.

fwiw having taken courses with other instructors including some big name high speed military "operators" - Tom Givens is the one to listen to and is worth spending the money to travel and take a course. If you work with me, we'll follow his perspective and methods. If you want to travel, find one of his intro courses on his Rangemaster website.

The goal is to have you walk away with at least some level of comfort that you can really draw, fire, and hit.

My instructor training from Tom Givens really significantly changed the way I approach teaching and the expectations, skills, and drills will be from that school of thought and training.

It will be more rigorous than most other basic courses. I've taken a good number of the basic courses always trying to learn something new myself and learn new ways to teach. I always walked away thinking that the high student to instructor ratios are good for profits for the instructor, but not really helping a true entry level shooter. Pistol skills really require some close instruction in the beginning to build good form and good habits.

My goal is to have you walk away with a fundamental skill set and a very comfortable feeling of "I can do this," and be comfortable carrying.

I give a money back guarantee, if you walk away thinking you did not improve and it was not worth your time and money, you owe nothing other than the cost of the ammo I supply. No one has ever said that.

I also am certified to teach the Texas License to Carry course. So, if you would like to, we can work on both at the same time.

If you are interested, send me a PM with what you are thinking you want, your prior training if any, and we will tailor something specifically for you.

Thank you RR.

If you were around Dallas, I’d recommend this company https://centrifugetraining.com/courses/
The instructor is a DPD officer that is one of our range instructors and a stupid good shot.

Just watch some youtube videos. Its not that hard just use crawl, walk, run. Start with unloaded weapon and dry fire, then use live ammo, then put it all together and practice different scenarios and done.
