After loading this bunch up this morning, I'm thinking 26 legs to remove, skin, clean up and freeze. I added 4 back straps from the larger ones as well. I managed to get the whole bunch done....but I'm pooped !

Pooped, I guess! That's a lot of work, but good on you for removing the beasts and filling your freezer!

Sometimes I wonder about my working with this stuff, as I just give it all away mostly....other than a pot of pork chili or something like that now and then. I just can't see leaving them all to the buzzards and coyotes though, and would rather see some worthwhile use of the meat.

Lance....what do you do with all the meat you and your son run into? I take coolers full of legs to a muzzleloading shoot with me and the club members haul them home. Occasionally a cooler full goes to local folks as well that express an interest.

Whew! That's the trouble with trapping. When it's good, it's a lot of work.

I have two unwritten rules:
1.
2.

You can say that again ! I don't know how many times I've had the tailgate of my old truck covered with a pile of hogs. It seems to have gotten a little more tiring to do it all, but it keeps me upright and moving....which I think is better than being an old man just sitting in a rocking chair.
I still go out and hunt at night fairly often also, and dressing out a big one in the dark by yourself is sometimes a challenge as well.

Seems everyone takes the meat home with them , every once in a while somebody will not want it ,and we do
I enjoy cooking wild pork

confused2 not all of texas has hog problems. Its a big state. Area i was living only seen hogs ocasonaly & as OP twas

grillen & chillen time for most when one or two were taken. When the WMA opened up down the road, it was me tagoto place for hogs. With the limited hunting rules & the 24-7-365 hunting pressure from surrounding privet land, it made it exellwnt for hog hunts, limited pressure. Ya had ta get OFF the old ATV trails back in the thick areas, & yould find em. The work began getting em out. Back pack & no gutting worked best.
Over the years, started seeing fewer hogs, biggest reason, my 2cents was the flooding. Hogs & deer were pushed out. Deer would return, hogs usualy followed the creeks. Some even made it ta were had me deer feeders & food plot, ruffly 8 miles as crow flies.
With the high-tech, had the scope over & green lazer under, it made hog hunten easier & safer than me slinger caveman hunts. NV, Thermal, lights around feeders, & large traps, puts advantage ta hunters. First lease, 1,100 acres over 10 hunters, was pretty much only hunter, hunten at night, kept flash light off, so could ease up for shot, hogs as in the threads about best color for lights can see the lights from distance. NV & Thermal brings lighting ta hunters.

Tis what keeps our soldier's SAFE during war were the enemy shoots back...
