I'm looking for a 16ga sportsman (cant remember 48 or 58) that I inherited (bought) from my dying grandfather in 2006. It was stolen in the Waco area in 2007 along with a yildiz 20ga O/U, but the sportsman is what I'm after. It had the engraved ducks on one side and pheasants on the other, but what makes this story unique is the letter that is in the buttstock. This gun was given to my grandfather by his wife at the time to commemorate the birth of their daughter in 1953(ish) The letter is written to Jack, and signed Marian.

I was talking guns with some friends this weekend and it made me think about it, and this afternoon I thought of putting out a search warrant. I will pay for this gun, and I will even pay a finders fee.

I check the pawn shops as much as I can, but never any luck. I'd imagine the barrel was cut off or they threw the wrong shell in it and blew it up, but there's always a chance it's still running around.

Thanks in advance!

-Chase

I'm in Waco and frequent Pawn shops and such looking at guns. I'll keep my eye out.
