Can't seem to wear out the old ones plus I couldn't give up my tang safety. Pick up a Ruger American Predator in 243 tomorrow. Nothing wrong with my old Ruger 243 just time to give it a rest, Lord knows it's worked it's arse off over the years. I'm hoping it likes 58 grain V-Max cause that's what I'll be feeding it. Yotes better watch out!

Pick up a scope and rings this morning and maybe have it together before I head to the ranch. Adjusted the trigger last night and it's breaking at 2.65 lbs and surprisingly very crisp. We'll see if it shoots as good as I think it will, I'll run some Hornady 58's and 75 grain V-max through it. If it shoots either of those well I'm a happy guy. This even has a threaded barrel so maybe there will be a suppressor in it's future. Good trigger (Never thought I'd say that about a stock Ruger trigger.) and a floated barrel, I have high hopes. 390 dollars out the door.
This one is going to be a meat and potato's truck gun.

Yep. I, like you, have a soft spot for Ruger rifles of all flavors. I finally convinced myself to try one of the Ruger Americans- picked up a Ranch rifle in 450 Bushmaster. The trigger is not bad at all, it's a handy little hog gun, and plenty accurate.

I was very impressed with their current line up of rifles at the NRA show. A lot of bang for the buck. Just bought a PC9 and I can't wipe the grin off my face shooting it. Slick little rifle that was dead on with the iron sights right out of the box.

Didn't put it on paper but I did shoot it. I've got a big rock that's right at 300 yards out, after making about 2 ft of vertical adjustment and about 4 inches horizontal I was grouping it at about 5 inches. About 15 mph wind and shooting out the truck window, I suspect it will shoot under 1 MOA if I'll do my part. Winds suppose to be worse tomorrow so I may have to wait until this weekend to sight it in properly. So far the only thing I don't like is the plastic mag but that more me and my dislike for plastic parts. It works fine and locks in solid. I put a Nikon Tactical 4-12x40 on it.

What we've got is a RugerAmerican Predator in 243 Nikon Tactical 4-12x40 Weaver 1 inch rings. I did back the trigger off as low as it will go and it's just under 2 3/4 lbs 100 yards and about a 10 to 15 mph. Left group shot with Winchester VarmintX 58's at 3850 ftps Right group shot with Hornady Superformance Varmint 58's at 3925 ftps 390.00 for the rifle. 200.00 and some change for the scope. 25.00 for the rings.

Picked up one in 204 a few months ago. Mine was a package deal with a scope, don't like the scope, will be changing it out soon.
