planning a trip to Kemah fishing. I need two things:

1. Best restaurants, great food/cocktails, a view BUT NOT a circus
2. Best restaurants which will cook your catch
3. Cheap motel, cold AC, hot showers

tell me anything else cool to do and see. we will only be there 2 nights

Kemah is a tourist trap. There are a couple of la Quinta’s down there. Go a few miles to San Leon and eat at Surfside Grill. I think there is a place or two in Galveston that will prepare your catch.

I agree. Stay away from Landry's. Your guide should be able to point you to a place that will cook your catch.

We ate at Pier 8 Seafood and fish market.
Great fresh fried shrimp and whole fried fish.
You pick your own.
It was great.
Not for sure if they will cook your catch, might call and ask.

There are plenty of cheap hotels down there, now would you feel the need to sleep with a sidearm on the night stand....probably so. You’re more than likely wanting to go above “cheap”.

Don't think it fits any of your requests, but we like to go to T-Bone Tom's when we are down there. Not a Landrys chain and really good food.
