I'm starting to see rifles coming out in this "new" cartridge. Anyone running it? Is the extra oomph worth it over the 6.5 Creed? Is it easy to load for like the 6.5 creed?
everything I have been researching, there are no negatives, except spending the $$

Friend of mine and dee, ran a 6.5 SAUM in competition, and it rattled itself apart, multiple times. His decision was a 6.5 SAUM and 6.5 PRC were gonna be great hunting cartridges but not great for competitive shooting.
No, it's not worth the extra oomph, get better at reading wind.

Derrick at Horizon has been running the PRC a while and taken a few animals with it with both 143 and 147 gr bullets. I have been playing with the 6.5/284 which is pretty much the same ballistically and the 6.5 SAUM which definitely has more horsepower. All have more recoil and burn more powder than Creedmoor so up to the user if they are worth it.

Watched a guy run one in a prs match with goid luck but it was 90% prone. Also was somewhat cool with long waits for barrel cool down.

Think I will just stick to my 6.5-284, if I want more velocity while hunting take the 264 Win Mag

I am working on a 28 Nosler rifle for PRS open division right now. I think it's way over kill, but some shooters are going all out on bigger and faster rounds.
