Just looking to see about how much you guys have been feeding and the rate of consumption. I know each area of the state will vary depending of natural forage and conditions. just looking for an estimate from you guys. I have filled the gravity feeder twice since Feb with 1350 lbs, each time it was empty in about 5 weeks. Pics are showing majority bucks at feeder so cant complain just looking to see if this is about normal.

Property is in Central Texas, 1000 acres good cover and water. deep population is under control.

I am feeding about 60#/day on about a 1/4 the acres you are. I am estimating 2#/hd/day right now with a buck to doe ratio that has more bucks than does. I am in Western Goliad County and feed consumption has been steadily increasing each week. I am not running any TC right now. All the deer are in really good shape that I am seeing so far. I have only had 5.3" of rain year to date so far and browse is starting to stress. Average rainfall here is around 32".

I have very different conditions at my place, very green, lots of forage and several plots that are producing....I filled 2 1000# feeders and added a second 300# feeder to one area about 3 weeks ago and so far the deer have gone thru about 3/4 of one of the feeders and the other has gone thru about 250# of the 300 lber and not much of the big one. That side has all the food plots and some good range, so they are getting it naturally and take a few swigs from the protein as needed. Deer are looking good and the bucks are putting on the antler size so its all good.

We have gotten quite a bit of rain this spring, timely is the best way to state it. Ground is holding good moisture.

To contrast that to earlier in the year, during one cold snap the deer went through 600# in one week at one of the feeders. Hoping that added nutrition shows this season.

Going through about 1000 lbs every three weeks in San Saba. That is with a timed feeder open from 7 in the AM to 5 pm. We are getting really dry right now & does are hammering it getting ready to drop fawns.

Ok, sounds about right then. I'm only able to get to the lease about every 6 weeks now. Have 6 slingers feeding twice a day and 2 gravity feeders going through about 2000# every 4-5 weeks. This is a little faster than previous years, just checking

IME when feeding in the Hill Country, May was always the month when consumption went up considerably and continued till it peaked in August. Increases over previous years are due to increase in overall body size for the whole herd today vs when you started.
