My bride of 40 plus years has requested smoked Salmon for her meal on this special day. We have a recipe from years ago in Sothern Living magazine that we love. Slice Salmon in 2" spacing, cover in olive oil season with garlic and brown sugar and rub into slices and all over the filets. I will be using Alder pellets on the Traeger for the smoke.
Serving bacon wrapped asparagus and Portabella mushrooms stuffed with Spinach and Mozzarella cheese also grilled on the Traeger.
A couple adult beverages during the cook and served pool side while watching the grandboys swim.
Doesn't get much better than this!

This is a really great recipe that my whole family loves. The Traeger made it even better as it doesn't dry the fish out since the pellet grill fan circulates the heat indirectly.
I would never have thought brown sugar and garlic would go together but in this recipe it works great.
I serve it with melted butter, olive oil, a dash of lemon juice and a dash of garlic salt to dip bites in.
Left overs usually go in a pasta with alfredo sauce.

It reminds me a little bit like kingfish.

Love salmon on the grill, it is hard to beat. Usually hit mine with some cajun spices and honey. Nice job.

Shoot. Eat. Repeat.

It came out great, moist, flaky and excellent flavor. Sorry I didn't get any plated pics, the family was ready with plates in hand when it came off the grill.
I hear you on Cajun spice, we use Tony's on most everything we eat. This is one recipe that the Tony's stays away from.
This was wild caught Sockeye Salmon, always a favorite for wifey and DIL.

That looks great!

We broil the salmon with butter, brown sugar, and then glaze with honey as soon as it comes out of the oven. She melted butter, brown sugar, and garlic powder to dip the bacon wrapped asparagus in before cooking in the oven with the salmon.....

This was my Saturday night dinner.....

Try the glaze on the asparagus....its awesome!
