I have a High Standard Model E, circa 1941, to sell. I'm getting Long in the tooth and need to trade antiques for something I like better. This weapon was bought from a Hawk Shop in Irving Texas. I was told the owner was a retired Colonel from Carswell AFB that used the pistol in competition. He put a muzzle break and slab slided the barrel. He also reworked the trigger to something to behold. I was also told that he was dying from cancer and was shedding what he could to pay for his medical expenses. This was 20 some years ago. It is a great pistol and super accurate. Now that I shake like a hooker in church it is time for someone else to do it justice. I'll be posting Pictures when I can figure out how to get them on line. If you send me an email address I'll be happy to send pictures in return. I'm looking for a 45acp or 45lc ruger vaquero/blackhawk. We can haggle on boot value to make each other happy.
22lr standard velocity. It is not rated for the hot stuff and will damage the frame if shot through old High Standards. When looking at High Standard pistols always check the back of the frame behind the breach. They will crack here. They can be repaired but it becomes obvious after it is done.
