I want to stick with a Nosler caliber since I have over 200 pieces of new 26 brass. I'm going either 28 Nosler or 30 Nosler. Can I resize the 26 Nosler brass to 33 without crushing the shoulder or splitting the neck? Anybody tried?
Haha yea I polished that thing for hours.

Neck up to 7mm and load it with 180's, 195's or 197's. We've been over this.

It's hard to see impacts and misses at a mile with the 7mm. The heavy 338 bullets are much easier to see. That's the only reason I'd even consider 33 over 28.

Just neck up to 408 or 416 and be done. seeing a splash at long range will be easy. Crushing shoulders wont be a problem when three arnt any.

You don't have the action size and bolt face to get serious about 338. BC and MV will get you there. Chad has said many times the 7-300 and 28 Nosler are easy to get repeatable hits at a mile. If you can't see a 7mm impact or miss at a mile, that's a scope issue, not a bullet issue.

It's hard to see impacts and misses at a mile with the 7mm. The heavy 338 bullets are much easier to see. That's the only reason I'd even consider 33 over 28. I would also go 7mm (28 Nosler). Necking up the existing 26 brass is a very easy step. The 28 Nosler has plenty of horse power out past 2000 yards. It's very economical to shoot (in comparison to other ELR rounds). On impacts at a mile. I have shot a 300 Win Mag with many times out that far. You can see impacts decent when you miss or hit. I have also shot my 7mm/300 Win Mag that far with the 195 Bergers. The 7mm 195 grain bullets hit noticeably harder than the 300 WM does, and has more fps, less drop and less wind drift than the 300 WM does. So seeing impacts or misses is much easier with the 7mm. I'm running the 195's at 2990 fps, and the 28 Nosler can run them about 3050-3100 fps. So you will be gaining more speed and energy on target. I have never necked up the 26 Nosler to 33, but I would imagine the necks would get too thin to reliably work, especially when sizing in a standard FL die set. You would certainly need a neck bushing die to size it correctly. Plus, the 33 Nosler holds about 77-80 grains

Also, the 30 Nosler is a good one. It's a little hotter than a 300 Win Mag, and launches the heavy 225-230 grain bullets about 2800-2900 fps. But if you are starting fresh, and the purpose is ELR, then hands down the heavy high BC bullets of the 7mm is it. I'd be looking at the Sierra 197 SMK, or the 180 grain Hornady ELD-M. Both great choices. The Berger 195 would be my top pick, but we can't get that bullet right now.

That 195 Berger (when you can get them, they are frustrating the hell out of me with their supply issues since they've left CA) is BAD medicine in a 28 Nosler. Sounds like it is pretty unanimous...get'er done! Plus, rumor has it your mustache will be better when you have a big gun in your safe...right JG?

Judd told me 28 Nosler, so I'm going back with a .338 Lapua.

7 STW Case Length 2.850" 93.3 gr H2O
28 Nosler Case Length 2.590" 93.8 gr H2O
He already has 26 Nosler brass. A .300" case length difference is significant. The STW cuts into O.A.L. when feeding from a magazine. Looks to me, the 28 Nosler killed the 7 STW for future builds.
