I’m not a big shotgun guy, but a lot of my friends like Yildez.

Main differences I notice between the “budget” O/Us and the more expensive ones is a little more weight/less balance and a less smooth action brakeover. Durability is not an issue.

I'm with NP, I'm not much of a shotgun guy. However, Bud's has a Stoeger OU combo (12/20 gauge barrels) for $541 shipped.

The Condor field combo is a 12/20gauge two barrel set which offers the ultimate in versatility. Both the 28” barrel 12a and the 26” barrel, 20a come with brass bead sights and screw in IC and M choke tubes. The field convo comes with a A-Grade satin walnut stock.
Chokes screw in IC and M
Length of pull 14 1/2
12ga 28inch barrel
20ga 26” inch barre

I had a Stevens 512 I played with for a while. While not a Winchester 101 or one of the Bs it was a nice gun with good wood, bluing, and fit and finish. They had firing pin problems and the 512 has since been replaced with the 555. I never had the firing pin issue with mine.

When I bought it I had the opportunity to handle the yildez (sp?) and several other like priced shotguns. My in store experience was that it was a much better made gun. IIRC it is a Turkish made gun with Stevens written all over it.

I'm going to go against the grain and say no...find a clean Beretta 686 or Browning 4 or 525 or stick to automatics. It ain't real easy to find an automatic worth a crap in the price range.

I'm in the same boat. I've been looking for a sub-$800, non-Turkish 20ga. O/U for several years. It doesn't have to have screw chokes if it is choked Mod/IC. I'll find one eventually, but it will take some luck.

I found a Beretta Silver Snipe at the Tulsa gun show for $700, but it just didn't fit me. My jug head needed more drop at the comb...

I have a Browning Liege $$$ safe queen, a Stoeger and a Yildez. I have no problems with either of them as long as you use choke grease when you swap tubes. Aftermarket choke tubes seem to be better. Added good recoil pads to them and not worried about scratching them in the field. Still tight after many years. One 12 and one 20...

Can't a good gunsmith shim the stock and fit it to you? Seems like that was a nice deal.

I did a bunch of research on this awhile back and eventually came to the conclusion that this is the right answer.

It was a decent deal. Here is one in quite a bit better shape.

Not sure how easy a drop at comb adjustment is, but add a gunsmith bill to it, then it's not that good of a deal. Me personally, I would rather have a factory gun that fits which would retain its value better than a "customized" gun.

I'll look at the SKBs. I think there is one at Cabela's, but it seems like it is $1100 or so.

I’ve got one for $800 I’d sale, although it’s got 32” barrels with fixed IC/Mod chokes.

Not sure about the OP, but I am wanting a 20ga with 26" barrels. I would also consider 28" barrels, but 32" is way too long for my needs. Thanks for the info.

Rifles are similar to boats and young women...there's no end to how much money you can pour into them without making them any more useful.

The made in Turkey guns really are not bad.

just watch out when you open the action, I have seen the ejector fly out and the poor guy missed most of an afternoon dove shoot looking for it.

just sayin

it was a Yildiz, I also believe Briley in Houston is the USA approved warranty repair shop for Yildiz.

When the Benelli Ethos Sporting shows up and I find a pretty one, I'll buy it and may be selling my Browning 725 Sporting 20ga. O/U

Just picked up a old Charles Daly Miroku 20ga. 26" M/IC for $680. Can't wait to get it!!!

If it were closer to the Austin area, I would have bought this one:
