One of my favorite critters as well, and they appear to be making at least a small come-back since the Imported Red Ant population has been controlled a bit.

I remember as a kid I would find a red ant mound and put a couple horn toads on the edge and watch them go to town!

He looks seerus. NP, he's huntin' ants and stuff, which is enough to make anyone look a bit serious!  And, he hasn't evolved in hundreds of thousands of years, so he's probably working on that in between ant meals.

Caught a bunch of them in the grasslands of Colorado. Tried to raise a few in a fish tank but they didn't do well.
