yes we all know what they are like but...... so I have a person that wants to put a
Springfield xd mod 2 in 40 cal
in my hands as partial trade
I already got rid of my 40 cal stuff and am only considering it so I can have some trigger time w the xd line then most likely pass it along
I have my initial thoughts on the xd's

so question are these worth having? pros-cons

A lot of coworkers shot them before being forced to 320. They shoot well and are pretty forgiving and easy to shoot.

I carry the XDs every day. Never once has it failed. In (I think) 2011 the XD was NRA's pistol of the year.

Give it a spin!

I've had one of the original XD40s for around eleven years now. I don't shoot it every week, but I have probably put several thousand rounds through mine and it has never hiccuped. XDs tend to be accurate, too.

XDM yes, XD no. I’ll stick with me 320. Even a XD owner on here admits that the XDM aid the better of the 2

Is it the nicest pistol ever made? No. Is it a very good, reliable, accurate gun? Yep

I was looking at a Springfield 1911 a few years ago and called my buddy who was the lead at the Grapevine BPS Gun Vault and asked him if they were decent guns. He said they're the #1 BPS store in the nation for gun sales and they had a guy come in awhile back asking to get his Springfield 1911 sent to the shop for some mods (night sights maybe). They had to look up the address for customer service because they'd never had to send a Springfield in for warranty work. Pretty awesome story IMHO.

I'm not a big fan of them either. Had an XD9. never liked the grips and it wasn't very accurate.
Switched to a M&P and have never looked back.

I say go for it,lots of folk like them. You can always resell it.

I really liked mine, sold it.

If forced to buy another Stryker fire pistol, I would go SIG 320 or Heckler and Koch's new one

that's what makes this great something for everyone I bought a M&P shot it and sold it didn't like it or the tear down, rather have my glock

haven't heard anymore from the guy so this may be a moot point all together

I like my XD45. Doesnt give me the warm and fuzzies like a 1911 or Ruger wheel gun but it shoots well and zero reliabilty issues.

They do not seem to hold value well so you can pick them up fairly cheap.
