Looking to take the family on a ski trip to Colo. 12/22 - 12/28. Up to 24 people but most likely around 15. Any recommendations on lodging or anyone have a vrbo. Good Christian non-drinking family. Thanks, Jim

Not particularly. Would prefer something in the southern area, Pagosa or Durango, but would consider others. Maybe even Ruidoso.

Mr. T has something around Pagosa Springs ... maybe he'll chime in

we used to frequent Angel Fire and found several VBRO type houses around there ... none were of the size you are looking for but would fit probably 10-12 fairly easy

Ruidosa wasn't even open this year then. Last place I would go to ski. Was fine when in college though. Go north. Winter Park, Steamboat, Crested Butte. Christmas makes it expensive though. Vail is favorite but too expensive now.

I am sorry but my home is already booked for the dates that you are wanting. But I can tell you this. You are looking for the most sought after week of the entire year and need to do something now if you are wanting to go to Pagosa Springs. Also that means that they have all raised their prices. But it is what it is.
This is the only place that I know that I have recommended one time and they said it was great. That's all I know about it.

Now once you find a place to stay, I will be happy to provide you with all the information that you need about Pagosa Springs to have a wonderful family vacation. You will not regret going there.

We always liked Breckenridge the most. Winter Park was good, but the last slope down to the lift was a bit much for real beginners.

Ruidoso hasn't had much snow in the last 2 years, there was skiing, but not first class. But there are several condos that you could probably rent several units to accommodate as many people as you want.

A ways up north is our little family friendly ski area Snowy Range Ski Area. Small area with not so long runs but should have great snow then. Centennial is small town at base of mountain and Laramie is only 30 miles away too.
Steamboat would probably have great snow also.
Check into snow conditions from this year even though things can be very different this coming winter.
Some pretty neat little ski areas in Colorado too, most are very family friendly. You can base out of one of them and then take a day trip over to a bigger area to check out.
Plan some extra travel days in case of road closures.

Breckenridge or Copper Mountain would be my suggestions. I've been snowboarding almost everywhere in Colorado and those are my favorite places. I have some recommendations for places to stay in Breck and you could also save some money staying in Silverthorne which is a pretty close drive to both Breckenridge and copper mountain.

Summit County. You got Breckenridge, Keystone, A-Basin and Vail all within driving distance.

With 14 people skiing, you will save about $600 a day on lift tickets in Pagosa Springs over Breckenridge, Keystone or Copper Mountain. If your the one paying for them all, might want to think about that for a while.

I’ve only been to Park City and Breckinridge. Both were awesome.

Breck is family fav but dang the lift tix prices are now out of sight on daily (for that week expect it to be $151 or more per day/tic). Best bet is buy CO season pass now for those planning to ski all week.

I love Steamboat for the skiing but Breck for the overall experience shops/eats.

First question is average level of skiers?

If beginner that rules out Taos and Redriver, and leaves Wolf Creek, Telluride and Purgatory

Next is if you want ski in ski out

Wolf Creek normally gets more snow annually than all of the other Colorado ski resorts and it just east of Pagosa Springs and west of South Fork. I have skied it many times.

Hope y'all have a blast wherever you go. up
