there were two or three others on the brush pile but they slipped into the water before I could take the picture.

That is the same kind of snake we saw on our place. Is it a banded water snake? I think it is. though he doesn't look like the banded water snakes I'm used to seeing around here.

That is the same kind of snake we saw on our place. Is it a banded water snake? I think it is. though he doesn't look like the banded water snakes I'm used to seeing around here. Looks like a diamond back water snake.. chain link pattern.. cant see the face, but water snakes also have vertical lines on the lower jaw.
