I have hit this property a few times now and a few with my buddy, Dave. Fewer hogs appear to be showing up and with taking out a pregnant sow, I expect even less will be showing up in the future...

People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf

DNS continues whittling down the pig population in North Texas

Same thing happened at my lease. I’ve hammered the hogs for a few years and now we’re seeing far fewer.

We've been hammering them also, and they just changed their hours of operation ! I think they're on bacon saving time

Hoggin' has been very slow on the properties I take care of. Most normally active areas where I have feeders and traps aren't even showing any tracks. Hard to tell why?

I want to believe hunting pressure has something to do with it. On our newer properties, we are still seeing a goodly number of hogs. On some of the older places, like you, we aren't even hardly finding sign. Even some of the ag fields we have been hitting hard are void of hogs right now.

A lot of the properties that we have pressured over the last few years are becoming devoid of hogs. To be certain, we have killed a good many. On newer properties, we still see decent numbers. It is nowhere near what it once was. Results are being produced, whatever that may be. LOL...

Tips his hat. WMA hog hunts can be some of the best hog hunting due ta the 24-7-365 preasure by ajoining privet land. Hogs, like deer, or any critter hunted learn ta patter hunters. Learned this in while hunting leases. excecative hunting, sit around & wait. Were i was raised, different type hunting. In another thread you mentioned hogs on nieghboring land. strand of barb wire stopping a bullet from hitting target. yould think neighboring land owners would notice your efforts & the dent youve made in the hog population. At small area had my set up, hogs followed the creek, the neighbor's dogs kept hogs moving, hard ta pattern even with my 4 cams. Best chances wete when first start showing up on cames, i rotated checking cams. Your Blessed with having permission ta several large areas ta hunt. My hunting was more for en & chillen. Didn't have the hog problems like area you live. WMA was me tagoto areas for hog hunts. Me caveman days had 1,100 acre lease, huntsolo, i was hog hunten, when hog hunten wasnt cool. always heard hog gonna get ya, 99.9% of time they gonna avoid hunters. Wounded hog most dangerous. Seeing more & more hog hunters taking advantage of the NV & Thermal. it beats old fashion night vission, flashlight off wondering about the woods. As many have said : hogs will be back, ease off on preaser, & if neighboring land owners put preasure on, hogs gotta eat. Stay at it. on videos.
