I was in my gunsmiths shop the other day. In his ultrasonic cleaner he was using Simple Green in the gallon. Claims its as good or better than caustic cleaners and smells good and is safe.

I don't have an ultra sonic cleaner but do like to soak metal parts in a solution which will break down crud when I'm not in a hurry.

This seems so much cheaper than Kroil or Carbon 2000 cutter, etc.

any comments on what works for you? Talking AR parts, shotgun parts, pistol parts, choke tubes, etc.

i've used simple green as a degreaser for auto parts but it didn't work as good as another bio degradable cleaner called super clean, this stuff cleans everything, heck, it even worked getting dried blood stains off a white tee shirt, i'll have to try it on gun parts

Super Clean is some very powerful stuff! Never thought to use it for cleaning gun parts, but I'll keep that in mind in case I ever run into something my usual methods won't handle.

I love dimple green in general. I've soaked inflating bike parts in dimple green concentrate to decrease and clean. My road bike years mostly. Worked well but not great. It was easy though and able to do it indoors.
