Do you take care of your tools? Put them up after use? Use them as designed or would use a screwdriver as a pry bar? Do you find that you spend more time looking for the right one, or just grab one and go? If you answered no to any question, go to Harbor Freight, if you want the best, look for a set of Klein screwdrivers. One set is $5 the other set is $50.

First choice.. Klein, Home Depot Klein tools are as priced about the same as commercial supply houses.

Second choice .. Craftsman

Both will give you years of service.

Personally, I cant stand the busted knuckles caused by poor hand tools.

Craftsman from Sears ... free replacement if you ever break or damage ... wish it covered loss due to my son (ZK-315) loosing dozens of them when he was younger. Every birthday, father's day, Christmas, I used to ask for just a nice set of screw drivers since ZK had lost so many since the last time I got a present. It was a family joke since I asked for this every time for years.

I lose screwdrivers too often. I stopped buying Craftsman and now buy the Home Depot 6 way screwdrivers that are a couple of bucks each. I have a few in the shop, a couple in the house, and one in each vehicle.

Home depot.

Another question. Why make screws with all the different heads?

I grew up using Craftsman for the car and around the house. I now use my hand tools just about every day for work and they are Klein. I prefer the way the Klein feel in my hands, they are made in the USA, they take a beating, and Klein stands behind their tools. I have returned tools to Klein and they were replaced no questions asked.

So Klein can be picked up at home depot, anywhere else?

Thanks for answers too.

I also agree about everything being a star bit

I prefer the Robertson or Scrulox over a torx...lot more biting surface and I have never seen one strip. They are used a lot in the marine industry.

Home Depot is the only retailer I know. Klein tools are not in the tool department. They are in the electrical department.

Professional grade slotted scredrivers have less taper on the blade. They are not exactly hollow ground, but they plenty of meat at the tip.

Phillips screwdivers have a blunt point rather than a sharp point.

Now my everyday carry is Craftsman Profession ( not sure still available) and Klein.

But, regular Craftsman screwdrivers have earned me many cans of beans and an ocassional steak.

They all beat the snot out of a hammer and nails. I can't believe that I had to build my pier and picnic tables with a hammer and nails.
