Sorry Derrick, I meant THF members. I saw yours at the Safari Club. You have some great new rifles, little out of my price range hammer

I started the thread on it several months ago. I haven't pulled the trigger yet on it, but I am leaning towards it. Waiting for some time to pass to see more reviews, if more "off the shelf" companies decide to play and if any other ammunitions options will be developed. Don't quote me, but the gentleman at Hornaday that I spoke to at SCI (his name is in the other thread), said out of a 24inch barrel they were getting right at or just under 3,000fps with the 147g ELD's.

We are in the process of developing and testing a new bottom metal design for SA Rem and Rem clones to specifically address the OAL limitations and feeding issues with the 6.5 PRC. This bottom metal will share the same footprint/inletting as the M5 but repositions the mag well posteriorly so that rounds dont get hung up on the bottom of the receiver. Using an Accurate-Mag 300WSM magazine without binder plate will allow an OAL of 2.950"

There's this thing called google.com, it will lead you to Hornady's website. Read and scroll down, they are the developer of the cartridge after all. grin

Parent case is ruger compact mag. Don't know anyone that has one, ballistics should be similar to 6.5x284.

So factory ammo is watered down a bit.

Has to be to meet their shipment requirements. I have hand loaded very few rounds as the factory rounds were shooting great, even took a deer at 650 with them. The hand loads I was seeing about 2910 dependant on powder.

Looks like about the same margin as factory 6.5 Creedmoor versus hand loads.

So, can a Creedmoor be reamed to PRC, all you need is to change out the bolt?

Yes, if you can talk a gunsmith into re-chambering.
