That time of the year when we start focusing on fishing again. Took a trip to the family ranch and ripped some lips on the property. Beat our previous record for an evening trip. Between my dad and I we put 76 fish in the boat in 3 hours. Also managed to pick up a couple 4 and 5 lb kickers, and a few crappie to finish it off. Wish we could have targeted some bigger fish but the small bite was too much fun. I ended up cleaning 90 something fish total last weekend. The filet knife and I are worn out smile

You got it. Anything bigger than 1.5-2 lbs goes back in that lake, except the crappie!

That's some good eating. The guys over on the bass form at TFF would be screaming if they saw that.

It was. Pretty sure I ruined my dad out there. That was the best trip he’s ever had fishing. Sure wish my kiddos had been with us. Those are the trips children remember for the rest of their lives.

Good job. That's what I need to do at my pond. We never seem to find the time to fish it and it's over populated with small fish.

I stopped posting pics like that over there years ago, it isn't worth the hassle of those folks.

What kills me about that forum is you have a bunch of tournament fishermen who will crucify someone for keeping any fish over 3.5 lbs in the name of "conservation" and keeping the lake healthy. Then, them and 250 other boats will catch the 5 biggest bass they can on the same lake, haul them around for 8 hours in a warm livewell, then parade them around at a weigh-in out of the water. I bet if they did mortality studies after big tournaments the numbers would be astronomical.

Last argument I got in with someone over there I suggested the tournament anglers should be required to donate 25% of their winnings to restock the lake they just massacred if they are that concerned with the fish population.....You can guess how well that went over.

Good Job. Out of the 4 ponds we have, there is only one left to thin out good. We are catching 4-7lb bas out of a 1/2 acre ponds. My fish feeders and forage plan are working well!!
