 Which 16" 9mm AR with dedicated pistol mag lower

Any recommendations? I am wanting a 16" upper with a dedicated pistol mag lower, preferably Glock mags, but would consider the Colt mag dedicated lower if there is a valid reason.

PSA is cheap, but the ones I’ve owned have been good. Also Karris guns is about the same price and equivalent quality.
Just depends on your budget

My hunting buddy built an AR with the Colt mags in 9mm. He mainly ran the 50 round drum on it. It had all kinds of feeding issues. It was ok to fire and dump rounds down range, when it wouldn't jam up. He also shot 2 pigs with it that we never recovered, which didn't surprise me. With the feeding issues and lack of some real energy on target, it's not for me. But if 9mm is your caliber, it could be a fun firearm to shoot a lot with.

I am thinking home defense until the sbr stamp comes in, but probably just mag dumps at the farm

I’d bet money the feeding issues were mag related and not gun related.

You are probably correct. It did have issues mainly with the drum, but also hung up some with the standard Colt mags.

I personally went with the Colt mags because I'm a lefty and wanted to run an ambi mag release. If I didn't have that want, I'd have gone with the Glock mags just because they're so plentiful. But as a defense of the Colt mag guns, I have zero feeding issues with mine even when I'm running my 54-rounder.  Anyway, I don't really see the appeal in buying a factory-ready AR15 when they're so easy to put together. You're never going to get exactly what you want unless you pay a premium for it. Parts from different manufacturers will generally function together like regular AR15s so building it is generally just a matter of picking what parts you want and slapping it together in an hour.

I love it. The field of view is second to none and it's bright enough to handle any lighting conditions. My only complaint is that it's a little finicky to zero, but that's generally just a one-time annoyance.

I’m considering one for my .22 for steel matches. It’s a little pricey, but they seem excellent.

There are knockoffs available on places like eBay for $40 or so. I won't say definitively that they are as good as the actual Cmores, but I've been happy with mine on my 22/45. The only difference that I can see is that the lens is tinted.

I started shooting a pistol caliber carbine all steel match that my local gun shop started. I picked up a gen 2 sig mpx 16 inch 9mm carbine. Pricey, but i really like it. Gen 2 mags are 60$, but i found some gen 1 mags for 20$ that function perfect.

I have carbines from Lone Wolf and PSA, plus an SBR built on a Lone Wolf lower. All three run just fine and all take Glock mags. Blow back 9mm ARs are notoriously hard on triggers and lowers, so each of mine now have POF triggers (which have a good rep in PCCs and come with KNS anti-rotation pins). Good luck. SBR - LW lower  LW carbine  PSA carbine

I have a CMMG MK9 with a dedicated smg mag lower. It will only run with metalform mags. It is really picky about mags. I love it though, one of my favorite guns. It's a lot of fun to plink with, shoot steel and PCC matches with and I've done some hunting with it. If I were doing another one I'd build a glock mag lower from quarter circle 10 receivers..no doubt..
