wife is going to a baby shower in late April, wants me to drive ... Shower is mid-day on Saturday (11:00-2:00) ... probably leaving Georgetown on a Friday morning and plan on hitting 407 BBQ on the way up around lunch time ... what else is there that we might want to take a few minutes/hours to see/do on the way up or back ... or around Edmond/OK city late Friday or Sat. afternoon?

The University of Oklahoma is well worth the side trip in Norman. I'm sure Big Bob will agree.

The Memorial is a must...it will humble you very quickly. Little crosses with big crosses = big tears every time. Turner Falls is pretty cool. For food; Nic's is tasty, but for the evening: Ted's Escondito for Mexican, Ingrid's for German, or Cattleman's for Steak. For a unique but very tasty experience, Interurban is pretty good. It's an easy trip from Edmund to Okarche for fried chicken as well.

If you want to do a bbq competition Flores BBQ in Whitney is only about 15 minutes off of 35 at Hillsboro. Try their sliced brisket then go up the road and try same at 407. Be sure to report results back. I have had both and think I know your winner.
