Looking to buy a threaded 22. Any suggestions? I’d like to keep it under $400 and there seems to be a few options but would like some first hand knowledge if anyone has any. Thanks in advance.

I have several. I just bought a S&W 15/22 AR style rifle,it's accurate, light weight for an AR style rifle-around 5 pounds. The barrel is threaded too far for most Rim fire suppressors,I'm going to make a threaded spacer for mine. Ruger 10/22,mine is a target model that I had threaded, but Ruger does offer some threaded rifles.
Pistols,I have three that are threaded. A S&W M&P compact,I love this little pistol,it shoots anything you feed it. S&W 22A-1 target pistol. Morgan threaded this one for me,its a great shooter. Browning Buckmark.I have a TacSol barrel on it,excellent gun.

I'm personally a fan of my Savage MKII FV-SR, but I think that the Ruger American Rimfire rifles are great too. The fact that they take 10/22 magazines is a huge bonus. The Savage's accuracy is amazing out of the box. I easily put down .5" groups with CCI SV at 25 yards, and I'm a terrible precision shooter. However, the magazines are cheap, and the extractors are pretty crappy unless you clean it every couple hundred rounds.
I'll probably pick up one of the Ruger Precision Rimfires before long if it turns out that they are as accurate as the Savages.

If you want a semi, it’s damn near impossible to go wrong with a 10/22. If you want a bolt action, I’d buy a cz or a savage based on what I’ve seen. The Ruger American Rimfires are nice, but just seem so boring to me.

Buy an old 10/22 and send barrel and bolt to Randy at CPC. He does great work.

If you want it really quiet, go with a bolt action. I have a Savage MKII FV-SR and love it. Paid $206 plus FFL fees for mine originally. The original stock sucks so I changed it.
It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

Ruger American .22 Mag. Shoot the new subsonic loads from Winchester. Really quiet. Add a can and it’s seriously awesome.

I never had good luck with any 22 except an anschutz until I got my green mountain barrel on my 10/22. The ruger american, savage, and cz will probably all shoot about the same. I'm not sure cz makes a threaded model? Ruger will probably be the cheapest threaded model.
