Picked this up in a local pawn shop a couple of years ago for $300.



Sent it off to Pac-nor for a new barrel and cerakote $750 (6.5x55 Swede - midnight blue)
Found a Super Grade stock to fit it $100
And got this:

No, that Swarovski was my Dad's.

Not a pawn shop rescue but an estate sale rescue. In 1985 or 1986. Winchester Model 1890 gallery model (.22 shorts only), octagon barrel. Marked $30.00, it was outside on the back patio with the 'junk'. I knew what it was and didn't even try to talk them down any. Serial number traced it to 1907. Ran a cleaning rod through it to remove an inch thick wad of dirt and dust. Took me the better part of a day to find a store that had .22 shorts and then it was off to the range. Tack driver.

Tens of thousands of rounds later it's still just about my favorite gun to shoot.
