Not sure why you would carry a pocket knife like that, but whatever floats your boat. I do have a Buck 0119 that I lost the sheath on long time ago. Recently ordered a horizontal sheath for it and like it a lot. Knife doesn't jab my lovehandles or anything else now when I am sitting down.

This one.

Cattlemen and ranchers carry their knives that way up here, I think it makes for easier unsheathing in case of a rope emergency, i.e. they need to cut a rope quick. Lots of guys still use horses to check cattle where atvs can not navigate the rough terrain.
Also makes for more comfortable carry like chalet stated above.

I love them and make them. Cross draw only way to go.

I agree, looks like a better way to carry a hunting knife

I quit with folding knives after one folded on my finger while killing something. Horizontal carry allows you to have a full size fixed blade on you without it being in the way. I've carried a 3" blade up front for years.

I don't like belts, so that is why I made this one above like a paddle holster.

I carry the EDC knife that MikeC made me in a horizontal sheath everyday. It's really handy for one handed draw or resheathing it.

It's also out of the way when driving. Is it better than a vertical sheath? I don't know. I like it though, no matter what the THF fashion police think of it.

I have several case pocket knives, as well as other brands that i have in horizontal or 45 deg sheaths. I need to find some for my fixed blade knives that i wear occasionally. They are more comfortable, especially when a person is a little more "fluffy" than they used to be.
