TPWD come out today for a controlled burn. We are converting this pasture back to native Blackland Prairie grasses with the help of Western Navarro Bobwhite Restoration Initiative.

Yes part of a larger initiative, but that was just the one pasture that is being burned today.

Been about 2 years since we've burned. So much fuel right now it's kinda' scary. It works wonders for habitat restoration.

Would the reason of burning be to destroy introduced plants and seeds? Just a curious town dweller.

Thank You

Lack of knowledge, is burning better than spraying and plowing? Does it kill the vegetation the same way? Our place in jack burned 8 years ago. It was beautiful for a few years.
