I've never seen one. How common are they?

I have caught two and both were in Colorado County. This one was in 2011. Local biologist told me that they were caught or seen in that area on occasion.

Not a full albino as the coon does have some pigmentation (you can see the pattern in the coat), but certainly ablinistic.
You can google search, but it looks like 1 in 500-750K will be like this. I don't think anyone knows for certain.

Unfortunately I trapped this one once while trying to lower the coon count around my feeders. It turned out that a local game warden had released two of them onto the property I regularly hunt. He called them albinos, and they came from a property around Paris Texas. On another note...I saw the other one last night while I was out watching for hogs. At first I thought it was a small coyote, judging by it's colors and it was about 100 yds. away...but when I got the night vision on it, it was obviously another one.

Back in the 80's (my coon trapping/Bluetick hunting days) we caught two, maybe three over the years in Lee county.

Not albino nor albanistic. It is leucistic. Condition is called Leucism.

Yep that's it. Not albino nor albanistic. It is leucistic. Condition is called Leucism. It's not an albino. Like the Fouz said it's LEUCISTIC

I shot one south of Fredericksburg. They make a great mount, everyone that looks at mine has to take a second look and says what is that?
