At first there will be some that resist, but after a few confrontations that number will start dropping dramatically. You shoot at a LEO or whoever is collecting the weapons, they will shot back. A LAW shot at your "fortress" will help you change your mind ASAP.

But that scenario won't ever happen, American are overall law abiding people, most would obey the law. The few that say "pry it from my cold dead hands" would be only a small percentage. When they see others die, the choices will be a lot more clear.

But I think it would take a Constitutional Amendment, I doubt if any of us see this in our lifetimes. Our grandchildren, that could be a possibility.

I just have some liberal/progressive friends who are falling into the "ban camp". In my opinion banning weapons along with any attempt to confiscate would lead to civil war. Found out the other day that I'm one of few who would get tazed or killed going in to get a grandkid texting me from a closet inside that bogus "leo perimeter" in florida (when leo's were sitting on their collective azzes).

Just checking to see if I'm alone in drawing the line at protecting my weapons as well.

I agree that it would take a constitutional amendment. I don't agree that there wouldn't be many who would defend the right to keep and bear. To me that line is the deepest ever drawn, and is in no way comparable to raising taxes, outlawing cell phones in cars etc.

I also don't believe I will ever see it. But I am not so sure about my Grand Kids. Things are changing way too fast. I can't name all the things that have changed that I never thought could happen.

I agree and I think you would have a very small group of LEOs willing to invade people's homes to confiscate.

I don't think most LEO would comply with the order to confiscate. I would guess after a few high profile "incidents" both sides would just stay out of each other's way. At the end of the day no one wants to die. Think of all the govt people with guns. Are they going to give up there private weapons I think not. I know not all LEO are gun enthusiasts but a fair amount are.

Or the military if it got that far.

There's no doubt in my mind I am. And I don't think I could care less. But I'm tryin' real hard.

Scare Tactics.

All one has ta do is look at old west. Not Hollywood version.
In 70's after doing some fastdrawing at gravel pit, on a dare walked inta a bar with postal & rig on me hip. After double checking it was UNloaded. Fast drawing was a hobbie.
World has changed. WMA several years back, parked truck, strapped on rig & pistal started walking ta area had seen some hogs in thick cover that couldn't maneuver rifle, on way passed two hunters walking back ta parking area.
Looks i got , & one said: you can't be hunting like that, it's illegal. Told em, rule says: "any legal means". Kept walking.

there are over 350 million guns in this country, probably half of the population owns weapons, probably 1/4 of the population would stand their ground and defend the second amendment.

If it came to confiscation the 2nd Amendment would have already been repealed. Basically it would be against the law to own one, would the majority of LEO or military go against the law? That is question that nobody can second guess. But past examples, I bet that that most will comply.
