Keep at it. I need to do something like this!
Never thought of the idea of a lettuce wrap at Jimmie Johns.

Yesterday I weighed at the 2 week mark. Down 14 pounds. Wife is doing this with me and she’s down 8 pounds. We’ve been able to stick to the meal plans pretty well with no real cheating. Having her doing it with me has helped a lot.

266.7 this morning. Still moving the right direction. I feel good. Hoping to continue this trend a while.

My wife is struggling more than I am. She’s down 6 or 7 pounds at the halfway point. I think her diet plan may need adjusting.

Men typically lose weight a lot quicker than women. I don't remember why though.

1. More lean muscle which in turn burns fat tissue more efficiently.
2. Testosterone

Women will show less drop in scale weight than men over the course of the same time period typically. They may however drop more inches but until they see this manifest itself in their clothes this is usually a hard sell that there has been progress.

Hydration, timing of caloric intake, and portion size all play a role and more so for women.

Hydration is key. An easy calculation is .66 X body weight to provide you the number of ounces of fluid (water) you should have per day dependent on activity level. EXAMPLE: .66 X 200 = 132 oz. 128 oz. = 1 gallon. It is no fun to go from 2 bottles of water a day to a gallon. Take your time and graduate up to it. You can kill 1/2 gallon of water in a workout easily. You will notice results much quicker and you will feel 100% better.
For recovery: best (and least expensive) post workout recovery item is chocolate milk. If you are lactose intolerant find lactose free/fat free milk. 3:1 protein to carb ratio is what to shoot for and chocolate milk does that. You can also do peanut better crackers and OJ. Getting this fuel in your system 30-45 minutes post workout will enhance recovery and improve your overall results.

Update: Today was the last workout of the 6 week challenge. I'm down about 21.5 pounds total.

Plan to keep up the workouts and stick with the diet pretty close. I'd like to get to 230ish. I was 263.5 today.

good job!

I slacked off around 2 1/2 years ago when I got married and put my fitness on the back burner to figure out the living with children lifestyle.

didn't really go up or down in weight it just redistributed a tad bit. Couldn't take it any longer and last week started back eating right and hitting the weights.

Good luck on your goad of hitting 230

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

That's remarkable progress over 10 or so weeks! Congrats!

Down to about 255 this week. Still working out 3 days a week. I've been a little slack on my diet for the last couple weeks but still wayyyy better than 3 months ago.

Still not eating fast food. I've had the occasional dr pepper but not more that maybe 1 a week. Still aiming for the 230 mark.

Had to order new pants and belt last week....mine were getting hard to keep on.

Congrats on the new clothes! Always a very positive thing. At some point in the near future the scale will not matter and the way you feel and how your clothes fit will matter more.
