Hi, I have a 1911 Frame / Receiver (unknown manufacturer; it is not marked with a manufacturer name, but the frame has a serial number of 1024xxx). The slide and internals are marked: "Conversion Unit COLT Automatic Cal 22 LR"

The frame is a basic 1911 frame. I have installed a 1911 (45 acp) Taurus slide with internals on it; a Springfield (45 acp) slide with internals on it; and a Series 70 Colt slide with internals [all 45 acp]). The grips appear to be Colt (with silver colored disc with 'rampant pony'). I don't know if that is a knock off or real, but the grips fit not only this pistol but a couple of my other 1911's (chambered in 45 acp).

This pistol has one magazine. It is for 22 LR.

So, basically, this is a full size 1911 frame, with a properly sized 1911 slide, but chambered in .22 LR, with one .22 LR magazine.

Please note: This is NOT a COLT ACE (at least it is not marked that way)! I wish it was, because it would be much more valuable. But, it is a Colt 22 LR conversion slide, bolt, etc. I am not expert enough to know the differences completely, but I do not believe this is the Colt Ace. (If it happens to be that and I am not aware of it, then good for you!!!!).

Since I've fit a couple of .45 acp slides to this frame, I know the frame is good for .45 acp. And the existing slide / magazine will let you shoot .22 LR in a full size, full weight 1911.

I really don't know the value of this; whether it is more or less valuable than a basic Colt 1911. I am asking $800.00 for this pistol, frame, slide, magazine. That may be high ( or low ???). If you are interested and think that $ amount is high, please let me know. I'm not trying to screw anyone; I'm just trying to get fair value. My viewpoint is that both buyer and seller should each have a little meat on the bone" so to speak."

Anyway, if interested, please pm me. My son is trying to teach me how to post pics, but he has not succeeded yet. I have numerous pics on my cell phone. If you will pm me with your cell, I'll send you pics.

Please ask questions.

Thank you,

JGW,
McKinney, Texas

Bump.

For you 1911 guys / gals, the frame, fire control, etc. is all 1911. Slide, bolt, barrel, magazine, recoil spring, etc. are 22 LR. With this pistol you can shoot 22 LR as is, or put a 1911 slide, barrel, etc., and shoot 45 acp.
