Had super high expectations for this bullet.
Lesson on function over form.
One of the most accurate bullets I've loaded to date. Will make a great target round with its boat tale design and high B.C.
Too bad it doesn't perform as I expected.

How do we know the bullet failed?

Lehigh Defense makes really good defensive 9mm ammo IMO, but I don't know about their rifle projectiles. Without the recovery of the animal and being able to see the wound location I'd have a hard time blaming the bullet, as it could have been poor shot placement

I have pretty decent vision, but you’ve clearly got me beat.

It failed to give the OP confidence and that is all that matters to him.

He didn’t tell you not to buy them but they don’t make the grade for him.

Even with marginal shot placement, a 6.5 bullet of that weight should have killed that coyote in under 200 yards.

That's my point exactly. With proper shot placement any bullet that weight should have killed the coyote with even marginal shot placement. I think the aim or zero was off.

You can see the coyote biting his side where the bullet hits. It may be a little far back, but he should have been dead anyway in under 200 yards (the area the op searched) unless the bullet really, really sucked.

Far back is what I thought as well. I happen to disagree with you about the bullet sucking on a shot too far back though. Seen lots of animals keep running when shot even closer in than 200 yards with quality ammo and a hit too far back.

Could be. With no recovery there’s no way of knowing.

I shot a coyote through the guts with a .308 150gr ballistic silver tip and the only place he went was straight down.
